If one race at Cheltenham is dominated by Irish runners, it is the Mares' Hurdle. Only two of the 14 runnings have stayed in Britain and even one of those (Roksana in 2019) was the beneficiary of a last-flight fall from the Willie Mullins-trained Benie Des Dieux.

Since Quevega took her first of six as a 2-1 shot in 2009 the longest-priced favourite in this has been 6-4 but this year's renewal has a more open look to it. TELMESOMETHINGGIRL hasn't won in three outings since last year's Dawn Run success but she produced a clear career best on RPRs when failing by only just over 1l to give weight away in a Leopardstown Grade 3 over Christmas and a repeat of that form might be good enough. There's a possibility that Queens Brook just needed her first outing in nearly four months when beaten by Burning Victory at Punchestown three weeks ago and she can turn the tables on that rival and provide the chief threat.
