Weatherbys Champion Bumper (A Standard Open National Hunt Flat Race) (Grade 1) (GBB Race)

The only Cheltenham Festival race in which no hurdles or fences are jumped, the Champion Bumper is often the first Cheltenham experience for stars of the future. The winner is almost always made favourite for the following year's Sky Bet Supreme Novices' Hurdle.

Willie Mullins both trained and rode the winner of this race in 1996. His son Patrick now rides many of the stable's best bumper horses
