Langer Dan beat all bar a handicap good thing in this race 12 months ago and appears to have a strong chance off just 2lb higher this time round, although he faces several interesting novice hurdlers from the Mullins and Elliott yards that have won this contest five times in the last eight years. CHEMICAL ENERGY, I A Connect and Hollow Games are particularly strong contenders for the Cullentra team, in that order of preference. Chemical Energy, who is 2-2 over this trip, and I A Connect are fresh horses who should be well primed for this prize, while Hollow Games brings a high level of form. The other Elliott runners can't be dismissed, while Adamantly Chosen and Five O'Clock fly the flag for Closutton. Some of the other Irish contestants also have possibilities. The aforementioned Langer Dan and the improving Cobblers Dream look best of the British runners.[Steve Boow]
